"...but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." (Proverbs 18:24)
In this world, we all have friends—people we connect with, talk to, share experiences with, and enjoy their company. But even the best friends in the world can sometimes let you down or disappoint you in times of need, not because they want to, but because they may not be available or have the right words to say at that moment. Then, of course, they might get tired of your "problems" and eventually give up on you, feeling like you're not going to change.
But there is ONLY one friend who will never disappoint you, never fail you, or give up on you! He is never tired of you, His name is Jesus Christ. Those who know Jesus as a friend do not seek help or favour from men!
What you need is a personal, private relationship with Him. And you don't need to go looking for Him, because He lives in you! You can talk to Him, and He will talk to you. He is in you, but He is also with you. He can speak to you within you, and also speak to you from the outside!
He is the dearest friend you could ever have, and He has the wisdom and ability to see you through the most difficult situations.
The Bible says: "...He (Jesus) is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them." (Hebrews 7:25). He will go to any length to help you. He has already proven it by His death for you on the cross. He will never give up on you or condemn you! Let Him be your closest friend and don't be ashamed to identify with Him, because He loves you abundantly. He will never be ashamed of you and He will ALWAYS be there for you, even until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).
Start each day by saying, "I love you Lord Jesus today." Develop this relationship with Him through His Word and the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for His unconditional love and friendship. Help me to deepen my relationship with Him daily. May I always turn to Him for guidance, comfort, and strength. In Jesus' name, Amen.
